Ending Hate in our Communities

Ending Hate in our Communities is a half-day workshop designed by the Centre for Prevention of Hate Crime.

It aims to give participants an understanding of the extent of bias, harassment and hate crimes in their community and the impact of bias and harassment on those targeted, as well as practical skills to help them respond to and prevent hate crime. 

 

Migrant Awareness Training

Migrant Awareness Training is a half-day workshop designed by South Belfast Roundtable and staff from our Good Relations Unit.

It is an interactive session which explores inward and outward migration and the rights of migrant workers in Northern Ireland. It aims to dispel myths and provide practical information on issues relating to migration.

OCR Level 3 Peace and Reconciliation

Ballynafeigh Community Development Association is currently offering an OCR Level 3 course in Peace and Reconciliation for women.

The course aims to gain an understanding of the problems associated with conflict resolution and peace building, with particular reference to divided societies, by combining the study of theory with the analysis of particular problems in ethnic relations.

The course runs for 10 weeks and starts on Thursday 6th May 2010.

TIDES Training and Consultancy is an ethically based voluntary non-profit training organisation committed to helping build the community infrastructure necessary to sustain a lasting and equitable peace in situations which have experienced violent conflict. 

The organisation offers a range of training courses aimed to equip people with practical skills to deal with the challenges of everyday life, address the legacy of political violence and engage with the changing demographics. 

OCN Level 2 Conflict Management

This course aims to enable learners to understand:

•The nature of conflict.

•The causes of conflict.

•Creative methods for dealing with conflict.

OCN Level 3 Conflict Management

This course aims to enable learners to:

•Understand the nature of conflict in a personal and broader context.

 •Identify the underlying dynamics inside a range of conflicts.

•Construct creative alternatives for preventing, reducing and managing conflict.

The training is informal, interactive, interesting and engaging.  The learning is also experiential with lots of opportunity for discussion and questions.
