Director of Ministry

Rev. Dr. Heather Morris B.Sc.(Dublin). B.D.(Belfast), Ph.D. (Edin)

Rev Dr Heather Morris is a Methodist Minister and Director of Ministry at Edgehill Theological College, Belfast  Prior to entering the ministry, Heather studied and worked as a speech therapist in Dublin.

 

Her PhD in Practical Theology is from the University of Edinburgh and focuses on pastoral communication with confused elderly people.

 

Heather is a recognised teacher of Queen’s University Belfast and has been on full-time staff of Edgehill Theological College since 2004.  She teaches undergraduate and post-graduate modules in Pastoral and Practical Theology and has been responsible, with others, for the development of these modules. Heather’s role gives her particular responsibility for ministerial formation within the Methodist Church in Ireland from the earliest stages when a person is considering a call to ordained ministry through to the development of a programme of Continuing Ministerial Education for all ministers in active work.  Prior to taking up post at Edgehill, Heather was stationed as junior minister at Belfast Central Mission and then as the minister of Dundonald Methodist Church.

Heather is married to Neil, and they have two sons, Peter and David.
