SPIRITUAL ACCOMPANIMENT
INTRODUCTORY COURSE 2009 – 2010
An Ecumenical Course open to Ministers and Lay People.
The aim of the course is to increase the skill and confidence of those who find they are already being turned to by others for help on their spiritual journey. It does not lead to formal accreditation but participants are encouraged to continue honing skills and to use supervision to support their work.
The course will include:

      a) Experiencing different forms of prayer and reflecting on them.

      b) Experiential learning in which an aspect of the practice of spiritual accompaniment will be explored both alone and with others. This will include the opportunity to accompany and be accompanied in small coaching groups.

      c) Theoretical sessions which explore:
·        biblical and theological perspectives
·        key themes within Christian spirituality and spiritual accompaniment
·        issues concerned with human personality and growth.

The course runs for six Saturdays; each day begins at 9.30am and finishes at 4.30pm.
Because of the nature of the work, it is expected that participants will commit themselves to all sessions.

Venue: Edgehill College, 9 Lennoxvale, Belfast, BT9 5BY

Cost: £200 (£150 unwaged) which includes drinks and lunch.
