Walk in the Word

2014/15: The Jesus Story

Walk in the Word seeks to encourage those attending to go deeper in their Christian faith by exploring selected books or themes of the Bible.

For 2014/15, Walk in the Word will look at the New Testament story: its historical setting and background, its major characters and most importantly, its message. We will meet the “big names” like Zechariah, Herod, Mary, Peter, Pilate, Paul and many others, setting them in their place in the unfolding story. This period is of course so much shorter in terms of years but immense in terms of its claims. Its claims are outrageous and almost shocking in an age which is obsessed with tolerance at the expense of truth. These claims are centred on the biggest name of all which, according to the New Testament, is the only name under heaven given to us by which we must be saved. It is a name above every other name and at that name every knee will bow in heaven and on earth and under the earth and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Walk in the Word meets in a relaxed, informal setting. Full notes are provided and no assignments are required.

Each session includes a break for tea, coffee, scones and chat.
